Applications:
Produced initially to serve a dual role as a man-portable or vehicle-mounted, rugged, reliable and secure ground position locating transponder with companion battery pack; the standard Caledonian Airborne Systems I-Band Radar Beacon can be readily adapted to satisfy a wide variety of roles to meet customer-specific requirements for portable, vehicle, marine or airborne applications.
Programmability of principal characteristics, combined with a modular design philosophy, and Caledonian's extensive packaging expertise ensures ease of system reconfiguration to suit each requirement. Operation can be from either the vehicle/aircraft 28VDC supply or optional power pack. Battery recharging is carried out on any 28VDC supply without the need for additional equipment. Other supplies can be accommodated to order.
Self test and beacon status indicators provide operator assurance. Full end-to-end supplementary field, flight-line or workshop testing can be carried out using a derivative of the standard Caledonian Airborne Systems Type-S Radar Transponder Test Gun.
