Key Specifications:
Applications:
The cabin audio system is a standalone wall mounted monaural audio player designed to reduce the work load of the cabin crew and reproduce excellent quality messages and in-flight entertainment/boarding music.
Specific applications include playback of customised pre-recorded, possibly multilingual, safety briefings, emergency briefings announcements, and boarding music.
Unlike other cabin audio systems, magnetic tape media is not used in favour of solid state digital recording and playback methods. Benefits of this design feature include a sizeable weight and volume reduction, vastly reduced program search time, improved reliability, and excellent audio quality.
Each message / briefing / announcement is digitally recorded at Caledonian Airborne Systems. Each program is organised systematically into arrays or sub-groups depending on the form of the content. For example all safety briefings would be grouped under the heading briefings, emergency announcements under the heading emergency and so on. Each sub group is represented by a mode button shown as shown in the image above. All the contents of each mode can be examined or selected via scroll controls; the content or title is indicated by a back lit alphanumeric display.
The number of buttons, control panel layout and operation mode have been designed to be very used friendly. Full familiarity can be achieved in minutes.
System interface with the aircraft has been reduced to an absolute minimum, providing ease of installation.
